Eswatini Construction materials source from China

Background:

This is a Youth Center construction project in Eswatini, requiring the import of various materials from China, including brick machines, ceramic tiles, windows and doors, diesel generators, electrical cables, ceiling lights, furniture, and more. The client is new to importing from China and faces challenges related to minimum order quantities (MOQs) and shipping multiple products from different suppliers.

Challenges:

1.MOQ requirements that exceed the project’s needs.

2.Complicated logistics with multiple suppliers and shipping processes.

Lean solutions:

1. MOQ Negotiation & Sourcing Strategy:

Source all required construction materials from multiple suppliers in China. Negotiate with each supplier to reduce minimum order quantities (MOQs), ensuring that even small quantities of specific items (e.g., a single unit) can be purchased without increasing costs.

2. Efficient Shipping & Consolidation:

For large-volume items, consolidate shipments into full containers directly from the factory to optimize shipping costs. For smaller or mixed orders, utilize a central consolidation warehouse where products from different suppliers are gathered, then shipped together in a single container to the customer. This minimizes shipping fees and simplifies logistics.

3. Comprehensive Door-to-Door Service:

Offer end-to-end shipping services that include handling all customs clearance, import duties, and local delivery. This ensures a seamless experience for the client, who won’t have to manage any of the complexities of international trade or local transportation.

It’s great to see how the solutions are coming together to help this project move forward! Completing a youth center will have such a positive impact on the community in Eswatini.
